Never touch the electrical panel if there is standing water on the floor. Let Hydro-Québec or the fire department handle the shut-off.
Using a generator is strongly discouraged until the building has been completely dried and declared safe.
Leave the house IMMEDIATELY if water is rising rapidly or if authorities order an evacuation. Don’t leave anyone behind!
Keep your cellphone, ID, warm clothing and essential medications with you.

Shut off electricity and gas. WARNING: Never touch the electrical panel unless the area is perfectly dry and safe. When in doubt, call emergency services (911) or Hydro-Québec and evacuate immediately with your family.
