The Birth of a Leader: from family business toQualinet
1994
Qualinet’s story begins with Éric Pichette and the cleaning business run by his father, Richard Pichette. Drawing on this experience and his ambition, Éric made the leap in 1994. At just 21 years old, he bought the company, which then only had two vehicles, and transformed it by leveraging creative marketing that stood out from the competition.
Quickly, Éric realized that to become a leader, he needed to be the first responder on major disaster sites. He took the initiative to provide services directly at the scene, an approach that, combined with strategic advertising, laid the foundation for the company’s rapid growth.
This determination and strategic boldness launched Qualinet from a small SME to Quebec’s undisputed leader in post-disaster cleaning.

To understand the boldness behind this transformation, one must look back to Éric Pichette’s beginnings.
His story is that of a unique journey, where work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit emerged at a very young age.
As a child, Éric already stood out for his determination and business sense, working in a convenience store at 7 years old, and gaining experience to build his understanding of commerce. He gained hands-on business experience and rapidly excelled, notably setting records as a street vendor for the Journal de Québec.
Today, Éric Pichette continues to lead Qualinet as President and CEO, driving its growth with the same energy and vision that marked his early years.
